Kathryn Hughes

Kathryn Hughes is a British historian, biographer and journalist. Educated at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University and the University of East Anglia;[1] her doctorate in Victorian History[2] was developed into her first book, The Victorian Governess. Professor of Life Writing at the University of East Anglia, she has been a Visiting Professor in the same field at Kingston University,[3] and is currently there as a visiting writer.[4]

Kathryn Hughes, a contributing editor to Prospect magazine, has reviewed and written for The Guardian, The Economist and The Times Literary Supplement.[2] An occasional presenter of Open Book on BBC Radio 4, she also contributes to the same network's Saturday Review. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and the Royal Society of Literature.[5]
